Delta Oil & Gas is led by a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience in the oil and natural gas industry.

Gregory S . Thomas

President and CEO
​
Greg joined Delta in 2002 as Vice President and COO, he assumed the role of President and CEO in 2012.  Prior to coming to Delta, Greg was the Director of Marketing and Origination for Energy USA, TPC in Houston and a natural gas trader for Dynegy in Houston, TX. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Texas Christian University and a MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Greg is an Eagle Scout and is active with the Boy Scouts on the troop, council and national levels.  

Nancy Landon
Vice President

Nancy began her career with Delta in 1984 as an accountant, 3 years ago she assumed the responsibility of Vice-President; which includes overseeing accounting, budgeting, human resources and leasing. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tarleton State University.

Harley Clark
Director of Field Operations

Harley joined Delta in 2008. Prior to Delta, Harley had worked as a Production/ Workover Manager for several independent Oil & Gas Operators acquiring 30 plus years of experience in new well completions, workovers procedures, drilling operations, production management, field development, along with the day to day operations of Oil & Gas Industry. Harley has attained numerous hours of instructional training in all aspects of the Oil & Gas Industry.

William (Bill) Stephens
Director of Earth Science

Over the past 35 years Bill’s primary focus has been on the exploration of the Pennsylvanian System of the Eastern Shelf of the Midland Basin and the Red River/Matador Arch utilizing sequence stratigraphy, petroleum systems concepts, and basin analysis. The integration of these efforts with regional structural interpretations and seismic data acquisitions and interpretation, he has led to the successful development and/or waterflooding of numerous properties as well as direct responsibility for several new field discoveries and extensions. He has remained continuously active in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the AAPG Southwest Section and the North Texas Geological Society.

Bruce N. Shepherd 
Director of Exploration​

Mr. Shepherd has 43 years of experience as a Petroleum Geologist.  He has been associated with Delta Oil & Gas LTD since 1989.  In his time with Delta he has recommended the drilling and recompletion of  500 + wells in North Central Texas and the Permian Basin. He was employed by Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Company in Denver, Colorado from 1974 to 1977.  He worked for Arapaho Petroleum Incorporated in Breckenridge, Texas from 1977 to 1978.  When Arapaho Petroleum was sold to a foreign company he resigned and formed Shepherd Petroleum Incorporated in 1979.  From 1979 to 1989 he performed geological consulting for numerous operators in North Central Texas.  He graduated with a BS degree in Geology from West Texas State University in May of 1973 and was involved in Graduate Studies in 1974. He has been a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist from 1974 to the present.  

Billy Cockrell
Director of Field Operations

Billy joined Delta C02 in 2010. Prior to Delta C02, Billy worked at a Production / Workover / Drilling foreman for an independent oil company for 8 years. Billy also worked for Weather in the packer and liner division for 9 years and 18 years for Production Fishing and Rental running fishing tools.

Jeanie Stephens

Prior to joining Delta's team full time in December 2018, Jeanie has worked on many of Delta's key projects for the last 25 years as a contracted landman. She brings over 40 years of professional experience in the research of surface, mineral, and leasehold titles. Jeanie has served Stephens County and our surrounding area through youth sports programs, junior livestock exhibitions, civic boards, West Texas Rehabilitation Center events, as a Trustee of Breckenridge IDS for 10 years and a Director for ResourceCare's six community health care centers since 2005.

John "Bryan" Ward
Petroleum Engineer

Bryan joined Delta in 2017 as a petroleum engineer. He is heavily involved in the completion and workover department, as well as the drilling of new wells. Bryan graduated from Texas Tech University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Brittnee Brannan

Brittnee began her career with Delta in 2011 as a petroleum geologist after graduating with a bachelor's of Science in Geology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Prior to joining Delta, Brittnee had work experience in mudlogging and as a geology course teaching assistant. Since becoming a member of Delta's team, she has helped to build and develop geologic wells and re-completion of legacy properties. Her exploration career focus has been primarily on the development of Lower Pennsylvanian limestones and sandstones into the Fort Worth Basin and on the Eastern Shelf of the Midland Basin. She became a Texas Licensed Professional Geoscientists in 2016 and is an active member of the several societies including the Geological Society of America, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Association of Women Geoscientists, West Texas Geological Society and Abilene Geological Society.
